Basil-Strawberry Mojito

This is a great summer drink! We serve them at the bar I work at, but I make them at home a lot too. In the summer, I normally have everything on hand to make them.

Serves: 1


  • 1 whole Strawberry
  • 2 whole Basil Leaves
  • 2 ounces, fluid Rum
  • 1 dash Lime Juice (fresh Or Bottled)
  • 1 teaspoon Simple Syrup
  • 1 can Ginger Ale


~Muddle basil, strawberry, splash of lime juice, and simple syrup

~Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in rum, pour in basil/strawberry mixture, then top with ginger ale.
(You won’t need the whole can of ginger ale for 1 drink.)

~Garnish with a lime wedge and a strawberry, if you want.

Note: To make simple syrup just mix 1 part sugar and 1 part water in a pan on the stove until the sugar is dissolved. The simple syrup is optional, but I like my mojitos sweeter, so I use it.

Also, you can make the muddled basil/strawberry mixture and freeze it in little containers if you need to make a bunch for a party or something! Enjoy!
